Yair Safrai is a veteran of the venture capital industry in Israel where he is active since the beginning of the 90’s. He co-founded Concord Ventures, a $250M group of funds in the mid 90’s.
As General Partner at Concord, Yair specialized in information technologies with emphasis on Internet-related and software companies. He has set on many boards and was an active Director and Chairman, helping management teams to build their companies.
Prior to Concord Ventures Yair was a Vice President of the Nitzanim Venture Fund. Nitzanim was one of the first and most successful funds in the Israeli VC industry.
Prior to joining Nitzanim, Yair was in charge of business development at BVR Technologies, a high-tech company specializing in aviation simulation. In BVR Yair was responsible for the commercialization of BVR’s military technologies in civilian markets. As part of his role Yair was involved in the establishment of VizRT, a very successful company in the digital media and production industry..
Prior to BVR, Mr. Safrai held key consulting, marketing and business development positions at IGS Inc., a US based hi-tech start-up, and P.O.C., a leading marketing and strategy consulting firm in Israel.
Mr. Safrai holds a B.Sc. cum laude in Economics and Management from the University of Tel-Aviv, an M.A. in International Studies from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton Business School.
Mr. Safrai served as jet fighter pilot in the Israeli Air Force.
