Avi Patir is leading, on behalf of Motorola / Mirs, the setting of a new Mobile Broadband business based on WiMAX technology.
Mr. Patir has more than 30 years of experience in a large variety of Telecommunications aspects (Wireline, Cellular, Satellite, ILD, ISP).
He founded Barak ITC, a leading LDI and ISP in Israel, and served as its first President and CEO. Mr. Patir served in a few top executive level positions in Bezeq, the Israel Telecommunications corp., the last of which was COO and head of wireline division.
Prior to that Mr. Patir served in the IDF, from where he retired as a colonel. He was, among others, the head Communications Systems Division in the Signal and Electronics Corps and head of Communications, Electronics and EW Division in the R&D Directorate (MAFAT).
Mr. Patir holds a MSc EE from Columbia University, NY and a BSc EE from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
